Home Disiplines Membership Firearms safety training Range Documents Contacts & Committee One of the first steps towards obtaining a firearms licence, and participating in the safe, fun and unique range of shooting sports that SSAA NSW offers, is to complete a Safe Shooting course.  This is a mandatory requirement for anyone seeking to obtain a Firearms Licence in NSW. Miners 12 years or older can obtain a Minors Permit. This authorises the minor to use firearms under the supervision of the holder of a category A,category B or category C firearms licence for the purpose of receiving instruction in the safe use of firearms or competing in shooting events.
